remove, nerf, only give to cadets or add regulations to tazers#6679

tazers stun you for 7 seconds which flips the tide of the battle all because you got hit by a tazer its literally cuff killing in disguise theres no reason for sd and mtf to have this over than scing someone or killing a cd with effects other than that they have suitable gear for combat

Yeah I’d agree they’re very powerful, but after seeing how difficult affected are to kill from being on-site the past few days it shows how important the tazer is since that is how they die a vast majority of the time. When there’s two affected the tazer usually gets you killed anyway especially if they work together.

If you can come up with a solution then definitely add it to the post, not really sure what you want done.

tazers should not be able to spam tase already tased people, as its not fun being stuck o the ground being tased

I disagree, if tasers were removed, it would be a pain to put people in SC unless you cuff rush them, and as an ex-Sentinel, each time I had to cuff rush I got jumped by like 10 CDs

a better idea would be to add taser regulations meaning that there must be a certain situation before they use the taser, examples of valid uses could be on a DFSC CD and affecteds with 1200 effects, invalid uses could using it on a random cd who riots or an affected who does not possess 1200 effects obviously you can add on to those they’re just examples. Misuse of taser can be reported obviously and will be punished with like a formal warning

@Dylan Humphreys yea that could work

@Theawsomeplayer456 but in that situation you could do nothing, even if you had a taser, a taser can only tase 1 at a time. so your example is futile

@Snap Spam tasing is not allowed already.
@Dylan Humphreys Regulations would not work. Any situation that would require the usage of a taser would be too fast paced to be able to make an accurate judgement.
@Councxxious They are explaining that removing tasers would make it necessary to do cuff rushing. There are other methods of cuffing CDs but they all require a taser to be done effectively.

I will allow the tasers to be removed ONLY if the 407 or 914 or even any other advantage of getting high speed get decreased. Im talking like they only gain slight speed advantage. Because the affecteds are very fast so they should GREATLY nerfed, then yes remove tasers.

@Councxxious You just addmitted yourself that the game had a higher player count back then, meaning the site back then had way more people and guns to fight against the CDs, now you have 3-4 SD and 3 MTF max onsite and you want to remove their only way to kill affected in under 15 minutes?

thats not the reason the site is dead you monkey, sd and mtf dont get on due to the inactivity of every department and lack of updates being focused on the game cuz of MaD being busy with other projects and games when the new area 14 gets released you can judge the activity

With 4 SDs and 3 MTFs, you can basically stop CDs instantly. Apart from a taser, combatives has; firedoors, lockdowns and cuffs. They are sufficient to stop the threat of CDs.

In a scenario where there is a lack of combatives, the combatives on-site has the ability to request backup. That’s what combatives are for. To be ready when the department needs them. Maybe there are some inactive sentinels and juniors, but don’t tell me you can’t find at least 3 that wants to help out. SD has 747 members and has 690 sentinels and juniors and you can’t find 3 of them that can help? What about the SRU, who is ready most of the time to help out?

You don’t need an truck full of gear to stop CDs, it’s the manpower. When the combatives do respond to these calls, it increases player activity. Combatives need to be more vigilant and therefore not be lazy at their job.

@Councxxious You’re very right, if combatives always had the manpower to deal with every situation they would have no issues and the tazer would be unnecessary, but this is becoming less and less the case because of an inactivity spiral affecting all departments. Usually a single MTF has to deal with all of CZs and backup, if it comes, takes a long time to load in. Affected are so common to see while in the past they were a more rare event and incredibly powerful from my experience.

SD has 747 members and has 690 sentinels and juniors

I really wish we had that kind of activity but it’s just not the case right now. It’s difficult to ping specific SD because there are so many people in the joint discord, and a majority of the inactive members of either department won’t respond which relies on just SRU who are a fairly small sub group.

I’m totally for regulations if it can be done right and not making it so complex that you’re better off not using it, but It’s super important to look at it from every perspective.

who even needs tasers

focus on balancing tasers for novus, changing big aspects of A14 gameplay probably won’t do a lot to improve activity right now
